Slit scan video A bit fast made, and a bit slow running (possibly a record for slow QC compositions even.. can anyone beat 8spf? :D ) It's a slightly modified slit scanning thing, that takes a video and makes something that flows along time as it moves across the screen. The video I used is a capture of ASD's awesome demo Lifeforce. Captured with QuartzCrystal.
I'll improve the patch a bit before posting it up here, it's full of bugs. And maybe it could be just a bit faster too ;)

I think this is really nice.
Did you do the music?
Nope, I wish I could do music like that :D It's the music to the original demos (which I also wish I was good enough to do, they're two of my favourites). I'll redo these properly soon, fixing the bugs (perhaps today), and I've had an offer for somebody to do some processing on the audio so it matches the video.
Oh yeah, I tried vertical mode too (this is a low quality test render, but I like the way it came out). The original video is well worth checking out.. it's a procedural animation, with some interesting effects.
Yeah... I noticed the noise floor was a little high before the music really starts cranking. I was trying to figure out where that came from since it sounded mostly like electronic instruments. Some notch filtering, or even a de-hiss type of plug, and sloping off the low end for just that intro, could be a way to get rid of some of that noise.
Excuse me though, because the noise doesn't really make a big dif... and it is ironic that I comment on this because I actually use noisiness a great deal of the time in my own recordings.
I guess you're referring to media error. Actually, it's a direct rip of the original audio, and the noise is part of the track. It'd make more sense if you saw the original demo :) There's links to the demo (which requires windows and a pretty decent video card) plus a video and a youtube link here: http://www.pouet.net/prod.php?which=31574
